one of the core pain points for me thus far has been internalizing how power laws & compounding generally work. paired w the firsthand xp of how financially illiterate most of the crypto space is.
as such Higher having a token has made me feel conflicted on how considerate i should be toward willing-but-unknowing-victims of the aforementioned dynamics.
in short, many will/do say they understand the risk, while significantly overestimating their short term potential, and massively underestimating the risk.
yet from my pov, to build this concept, the token is needed and a double edged sword.
so when things like $aether or $lum get launched and start vampiring the network, i have two reads simultaneously:
we’ve hit a growth/threshold metric in mindshare where ppl want to leverage our value (✅)
ppl are going to become victims of this by their own poor decisions & then blame us for it (❌)
until recently i’ve felt strangely responsible for ‘defending’ the latter. i’m not sure why…
little clues i spot on the social network - via anon posts, deep replyguy convos, or even thinly guised constructive criticism - point to higher having genuine ‘haters’.
to me this means we’re progressing.
it also means things are more dangerous for the less adaptable. ppl will get in trouble more easily.
as six always says, “wat do?”
fortunately/unfortunately we can’t take responsibility for another’s success or failure.
making me return to the position that this is the wild wild web.
my current focus, regarding higher, is to help build one of the coolest networks the internet has yet to see.
collaborating w other memecoins that are trying to do the same ($yap by foda, $anon, now $blonde).
collaborating w apps, protocols, chains, & crypto at large.
the majority of ppl here want to speculate on this endeavor as opposed to help build it. we need them to do just that ironically enough.
i guess this post is me internalizing, a lot of ppl are going to hurt themselves in the process. and honestly, that makes me quite sad.
is wat is. godspeed to them.
